ABOUT The Farmer-Florist

CHRISTINE

PASSIONATE ENTREPRENEUR, MOM, DREAMER & FLOWER BOSS

Becoming a farmer-florist was a dream that whispered to me many moons ago and eventually grew into something I couldn’t ignore. In college, I immersed myself in languages and art, but my heart always felt pulled toward nature’s rhythms. I don't come from a farming family but gardening alongside my mother planted the first seeds. Those afternoons in the garden became so much more than childhood memories—they became the foundation for the life I lead today.

To say I love flowers would be an understatement. They give me life. They feed my soul. They are my muse, and the driving force behind everything I create. Flowers inspire me through every season—their vibrancy, their delicate strength, their boundless beauty. They turn the hard work of farming into something magical.

Through Wild Iris, I hope to share that magic with you. Our floral designs are a labor of love, a reflection of the indescribable joy and gratitude I feel working with my own blooms. My dream is for you to see that same beauty, to feel that same connection to nature through what we create.

Thank you for being here and for letting me share my love of flowers and the beauty of the natural world with you.

Wild Iris has become an ever-growing farm that focuses on colors, textures, and heirloom varieties of specialty flowers and foliage. Our design work is distinguished by our specialty blooms being incorporated in a modern, garden-inspired, floral design style. We are known for the one-of-a-kind floral experience that we provide and our passion for everything involving flowers.

About the farm

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of western Connecticut, our story begins in 2021 when Christine Covino, owner and founder, embarked on a mission to share her love of flowers with her local community via the flower truck, event design and farm subscriptions. A first-generation farmer, Christine’s flower journey started with a small backyard plot in 2016, where she taught herself the art and science of farming from scratch. Over time, her passion and dedication transformed that humble plot into a flourishing farm spanning 2 acres currently. Along the way, Christine sought out inspiration and expertise from some of the most celebrated names in the floral world, including NYBG, Erin of Floret Flowers and Jenny of Trademark Flower Farm. Today, her farm is not just a testament to her hard work but also a celebration of beauty, creativity, and nature’s endless possibilities.
